Budding Nigerian artiste, Purple Plutonian who recently released his seven-track EP; Echoes From Pluto has continued to wow music lovers across the African continent.
Can you tell us more about yourself; personal and educational background?
Not much to tell, I was a spoiled kid who got sense the hard way experiencing it all Along the way and appreciating life, educational level is SSCE, undergrad unilag
How did music start for you?
Creating music was something
I always enjoyed doing, but always felt like it would only be a past time, glad I’m able to do it professionally now
What is your favorite genre of music? and why?
I don’t have any favorites, I listen to rap music to classical music to funk and afro and heavy metal with the same amount of enjoyment.
What inspired your Echoes of Pluto Ep?
A lot of things inspired it; the life I’ve lived, the one I want to live, just a celebration of music and all the talented people I’m surrounded by
Can you tell us more about the songs on the EP?
These songs are all from a place of inspiration from me and very talented writers and musicians that came together to create this magic
Which is your favorite?
I don’t think I have a favorite but if I had to pick, maybe juju
What inspired the lyrics of Sege?
Relationships changing once one of them is in the spotlight, we’ve seen it multiple times and it was something I always felt like could happen to me and a lot of people had experienced. I felt like expressing it on behalf of us.
What would you say is your best moment so far as a music star?
I don’t think I have a best moment yet but for now, the creation process with my team (Sounds From Pluto) has been the best moments there’s no better feeling than creating something with people you respect and knowing you did something amazing
Ever encountered an ugly situation on stage or at the recording studio?
Yes multiple times in the recording studio, usually disagreements about what direction a song should go
These days almost all musicians have baby mamas, are you one of them already?
No and I can say for a fact i have no interest in anything like that
What’s your take on this new trend?
I don’t have any opinion on it, I think everyone should be free to do whatever they want as long as it brings them joy
Love, sex and money, which comes first for you and why?
Right now love comes first, the love of my family, friends, my music and the people I work with, then money in a close second
In terms of collaborations which top artists would you want to work with and why?
A lot, but off the top of my head, Sarz, Adekunle Gold, Wizkid, Runtown and Omah Lay among a few. I picked them because I really like what they are doing musically right now and I feel like I can make something amazing with them.
If not music, what else would you be doing?
I would probably be focused on fashion and styling.
What next should fans expect from you?
A lot from every direction but just expect good music that’ll transport you to a place of self expression.
