Your first day as an actress
I was nervous since I didn’t plan to be an actress. My ex talked me into it and I was kind of very nervous and excited at the same time. It was a kind of mixed feelings for me. That was in 2003.

First movie
The first movie I acted in was ‘Two Together’ where I played a girlfriend to Emeka Ike. He was married to Genevieve Nnaji in that movie, so I wanted to snatch him from her. It was a nice movie.

First embarrassment as an actress
My first embarrassment? There was this movie I did where I mixed soup with sugar and one woman took it personally. She actually thought I didn’t know how to cook. She couldn’t understand that was a movie and the woman is my friend’s mother. Later, I went to London and stayed in their house. I brought egusi and ogbono from Nigeria and wanted to make soup for the house then she called her daughter inside the room and asked her “why should you allow this girl to make soup? She doesn’t know how to cook. She will mess the soup up with sugar for us”. My friend now told me that her mum warned her against allowing me to make their stew. Even when I made the stew, she refused to eat it, because she believed I couldn’t cook.

First car
It was an Audi and I remember how I bragged around with it. I sold it long time ago.

No way. No.No. It’s in the past and it’s the past. We are both happy and doing well. We’re still good friends and caring for our kids.

First pregnancy
I wore a normal top and leggings. I actually wore a particular maternity dress and if you saw me you won’t know I was pregnant. I was with Pete Edochie, my senior colleague and two other actors in Enugu and they didn’t know I was pregnant. The maternity dress was big. I put to bed the following week and they all exclaimed “was she pregnant?” I wore the maternity gown once or twice but for subsequent pregnancies, it was normal top, leggings and all that.

First labour room experience
I kept wondering how my baby would come out from my body. The whole thing was a miracle. When it was time for me to deliver, God took His glory and everything went fine. I saw my baby and I’m glad it was a normal delivery and very snappy one to be precise.
