Frontline aspirant and Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections, Chief Dr. Chinedu Umeadi (Agunaechemba 1 of Abagana Kingdom), has vowed to give quality and impeccable representation to his people if given the mandate in 2023.

Umeadi made this pledge while addressing thousands of party supporters in Awka on Tuesday. According to him, the need to improve the socio-economic well-being of Anambra Central and bring rapid development to the area informed his decision to vie for the seat.

The Canadian-based medical doctor said he has thrown his hat in the ring with a burning desire to provide quality leadership that will take Anambra Central to another level of development, in addition to bringing the dividends of democracy right to the doorsteps of the electorates.

He promised to better the lot of the people whose interest he has at heart, and reiterated his total commitment to ensuring that the better days are back again.
“I will give you Anambra Central of your dream, an Anambra Central you will be proud of.Taking you to a new direction is my sole aim. That I am confident I will accomplish by God’s grace,” Umeadi posited.

” Our people will enjoy open book representation and I am going to be very accessible to everyone. There will be regular townhall meetings and engagements across various digital platforms”.

Umeadi also disclosed he would harness the potentials of the human and material resources Anambra Central is endowed with, in order to achieve meaningful human and capital development.
Said he: “I plan to put in place a youth seating at table policy. This is to make sure that the youths are adequately represented in every table of decision making. There’s a saying that, “when you build the youths, you build the nation.”

“We should not ignore the fact that the youths are engine house of any functional society. I will also engage with different tiers of government and meaningfully engage the youths to be more productive.

“My mission of going to the senate is purely for developmental purposes. This is not politics for pocket. This time round, it’s not just development on paper, it’s going to be physical development. We have a clear road map to our destination. When we start, we remain focused, and we don’t stop.”

He pointed out that the job of representing the people requires someone with capacity, commitment and credibility.

“I want to sincerely serve our people. So I will make sure you enjoy accountability. If given the opportunity, with all my heart I will do my best with the highest degree of devotion and dedication. I strongly believe that I have all the qualities to serve our people.

He assured that if elected, he would change the narrative of sharing rice, beans, tomatoes and onions as dividends of democracy to
his district stressing he would ameliorate poverty rate with the view of wiping away the tears of “my people.”

“The best way to improve the lives of our people is through politics. That is why I deem it necessary to go there in order to bring good governance and dividends of democracy to my people.

“At present we won’t say we don’t have a representative but there is a big void one has been challenged to fill and that void is adequate representation.

“I am going there to cover the loopholes which make water come out of your eyes. I will not distribute rice, beans, tomatoes and onions. If anyone promise that, I will not be part of that category of people because it’s not a lasting solution to your problems.

“But things can be done which our Constituency can benefit from in the near future and that is what I stand for. I am going to right the wrong and deliver the dividends of democracy to our people. I am going to focus mainly on health, education and security.

“I will also work on human capital development, literacy emancipation, human rights protection, restoration of human dignity, equity and fair play in all ramifications and liberation of indigent people from oppressors.

“Im hoping to achieving all these by introducing bills which when passed into law can guarantee most of these things to be done and can be able to play equal level ground for both common people and general. I am committed to bringing quality representation to Anambra Central District”, Umeadi maintained in a tone of finality while urging all Anambraians to get their PVC and vote according to their conscience during the forthcoming 2023 election.
“Everyone of us should carefully examine the records of all the candidates before making his or her choice. Let’s use our conscience to vote massively for the kind of people who deserve to represent us.”
