Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in Lagos has declared Igbo kings are ready to work together to promote, peace and unity among Ndigbo in Lagos and their host state.

In a statement by Remi Anyamele, chairman and Chris Offia, secretary, the body said there was a time in history, when the Igbo in Lagos were quick in finding faults among themselves, members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Council of Ndieze NdIgbo Lagos were hostile to one another; misunderstanding, lack of trust, avarice and hatred thrived freely between both members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and  Ndieze Ndigbo Lagos.

“Ndieze Ndigbo wanted peace and indeed worked hard for it just like Ndioha was knotting their own end.

Following the election that brought Sunday Ossai in as new Ohanaeze leader in Lagos, Ndieze Lagos held election where the following ezes, including Chris Offia, chairman; Gabby Dimude, deputy chairman; G. I. Okafor, vice chairman; and Remi Anyamele, secretary general.

“The objective of the meeting is to assure all members and the public that the administration is ready to reconcile all warring Igbo factions in Lagos, to inform the public that tenure for the executive, henceforth, is a four-year single term, to inform the public that this executive will operate an open door policy, to serve with total commitment bearing the interest of the Igbo at heart.

“This executive also wants to use this opportunity to appeal to the Igbo, especially those in Lagos, to be law abiding and cautious of their conduct even as they carry out their legitimate businesses, and desist from any act that will work against both campaigns an proper conduct of elections, in 2023.
