A former President of National Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) and National leader of Friends of Good Governance (FOGGOV), Sir Leo Okereke has urged the Igbo to exercise restraint and remain focused in their day to day activities, reminding them that they are special in the sight of God who would surely visit them soon and restore them to their glorious position.

Okereke made this declaration recently while interacting with reporters in Owerri.

He reminisced on the years when Igbo were in control of Nigeria’s civil service, the military and all organs of government and compared the challenges facing Igbo in Nigeria to what the Israelites are currently facing in the Middle East and what they faced in Egypt under Pharaoh, assuring that Igbo would surely overcome.

He maintained that the bouncing back of Igbo would not depend on the making of any man but that of God. “The bouncing back of Igbo would not depend on the making of any man, but God because the exclusion of Igbo from the nation’s security leadership or marginalization of the tribe would not stop God’s plan.”

Okereke  also said that the injustice currently carried out against Igbo and other harsh treatments have rather made the Igbo race stronger and prepared them for their God-given place in Nigeria. He assured that the experience of Igbo in Nigeria today would soon become a popular reference in the country after the tribe has been elevated by God to their position of leadership.

He encouraged Igbo never to give up or allow the present marginalization to weigh them down, reminding them that if there was no seed of greatness in them, there would not be any gang-up against them as it is merely the fear of them that is reason for the gang-up against them.
