The Convener of Ihe Abia, Rotarian Ichie Emeka Okpara has extolled the leadership qualities of Chief Paschal Ochi, the President of Enugu State Association of Australia and President, Rotary Club of Wyndham, Australia.
Speaking during the birthday celebration of Chief Paschal Ochi in Australia, he described him as a quintessential leader who has devoted his time, energy and resources in the service of his community and Nigeria.
Iche Emeka Okpara said that Ochi is a man of character and integrity who has done so much in the service to his community and country and prayed to the Almighty God to keep him in good health and give him the wisdom and courage to continue to serve humanity in different capacities.
“I thank the Almighty God for the life of this illustrious son of Igbo land who has given his life in the service of his community, Igbo land and Nigeria in faraway Australia. I also appreciate the Amokwe community for the honour done to him by conferring a chieftaincy title on him in recognition of his invaluable services to community and country”, Okpara said.
Okpara said that Ihe Abia has collaborated closely with two organisations associated with Chief Ochi; Support Africa Initiative and Australia-Africa Design Team and Ihe Abia is thankful to him for the collaboration which has yielded positive results not only between the three organisations but also between the two continents.
Ochi is the co-founder of Igbo Victoria Association, a body that is committed to the welfare of Igbos in Australia. He is also the Chair, Australia-Africa Design Team, an non-governmental organisation that fosters cooperation in trade and culture between Africa and Australia.
As a director of Support Africa Initiative, an Australian NGO committed to the development of Africa, Chief Paschal Ochi has facilitated a number of impactful development initiatives from Australia to Africa.
Ochi was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Echeribe of Amokwe Udi, in Enugu State by Amokwe community in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of the community.
