The founder and president of Grace Revolution international Ministry, pastor Schugger Ezenwa Onyeukwu, PhD has reacted negatively to fact that the federal government of Nigeria had ascribed the increase in ritual killings to the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Headquarters of his ministry in Lagos, the cleric said that the Nigerian movie industry is not responsible for the decay, rather the parents should take all the blames.He said “blame the parents for everything that has gone wrong, if the parents train their children well in the ways of the Lord, all these will not be happening”.
I wonder why the government has decided to heap the blames on the movie industry, the movie industry has even helped a lot by making our youths realise that if they engage in such, the repercussion is disastrous, “movies are meant to educate and enlighten people, the fact that you watched an American movie that the story line is based on crime does not mean that you will become a criminal”.
The training of a child is paramount and it influences and affects the society. The Bible said that we should train a Child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it, “if you train your well in the ways of the Lord and the child imbibes good morals, that child can never engage in ritual killing and all these nonsense we are witnessing these days, the deficiencies of the parents is what is actually having an adverse effect on the entire nation”.
It is imperative to know that the economic condition of the country is really critical but a child with godly training will never indulge in ritual killing or any of these vices.
