Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has released the funds needed to complete the Enyimba Stadium.
The contractor handling the renovation of the edifice, Ebi Egbe of Monimichelle Group confirmed yesterday that the sports loving Gov Ikpeazu has fulfilled his promise of ensuring funds does not delay the completion of the job which was started two seasons ago.
Egbe in a release made available to the media yesterday hailed Ikpeazu for matching words with action, a step which would see Enyimba return to their fortress in a matter of weeks.
“I want to say a big thank you to Gov Ikpeazu for taking immediate steps to see that the Enyimba Stadium project is completed with the release of funds. Ikpeazu has shown that he is a man of integrity. A man that wants the very best for Abia State.”
Egbe further disclosed that the Enyimba Stadium turf would be one of the biggest in the world with a dimension of 110 meters by 74 meters play area.
“We are installing a state of the art geo technology pitch in the Enyimba arena. And the dimension of the pitch is 110 by 74 meters which is the biggest play area approved by FIFA.”
Enyimba it would be noted has since returned to the UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar which has in the last two years been their temporary home.
