Bogobori and Roma Lagos resident Disc Jockey, Aletor Jordan Obehi popularly known as DJ Venum has proven his mettle as a Disc Jockey of note and he is already sharing the spotlight with heavyweights in the music industry.

According to him, what stands him apart from others is his signature style and his playlist while on the wheel of steel.

“As a DJ, you should be able to have your own unique style and sound, and trust me, I can’t be left behind, credit also goes to all the great remixers that have their own unique remixes/mashups. I think I should be comparing myself to the likes of DJ Massive, DJ Kush, DJ Yk, DJ Aye!, DJ Mellowshe, DJ Consequence and some others,” he said.

My mission is to promote, not just afrobeats music but good music. My father is a creative artist and a professional musician.so it gives me more inspiration on how to become a better person. As a DJ, you should be able to know how to operate technical equipment. You should be able to socialise. As a DJ, you must know how to read your crowd and play the music accordingly. A great DJ must have good equipment and the ability to use it and you must be creative.

DJ Venum has played at several concerts and festivals. He regularly plays at Mainland BlockParty – Nigeria’s biggest youth event. He also has a residency at Bogobori and Roma Lagos.

He is the firstborn of his parents. DJ Venum, who is from Edo State, comes from a musical background. His father is a musician and creative artist who has a residency at Bogobiri in Lagos.

DJ Venum attended Ireti Grammar School in Ikoyi and later Yaba College of Technology. His interest in music started at an early age from watching his dad play at music gigs.
