The lawmaker representing Okigwe North at the federal house of representative in Imo State, Miriam Onuoha has extended her gratitude to her constituency in her 3 days free medical outreach she organised at the weekend.
Miriam in her speech at the occasion revealed that the organising committee received over 2,500 various registered cases from her constituents for the programme.
Out of the registered cases, 65 were cases of surgeries of different forms ,over 1000 were treated for ailments such as malaria,typhoid and other contracted diseases while there was over 75 cases of cataracts infections treated, Miriam disclosed.
The medical outreach she said would be holding simultaneously at the 3 different wards of her constituency adding that foods and nutritional drinks would also be given freely to patients recovering from their ailments.
” I thank the good people of my constituency for voting me despite the party affiliation, i promise to continue to deliver on my promise , i have sponsored 5 bills,raised motion on darkness outage of power in Okigwe , it is already getting attention, i rehabilitated several classroom blocks ,attracted road projects in Onuiomo.
“Installation of transformers to different communities ,we gave scholarship to 65 students including paying for their JAMB, besides what we are doing today, we will support it with home delivery nutrition because one can not take drug without food.
“I won’t forget the people of Okwele,
thank the governor for always supporting me and my people. I Pledge to use my office to contribute to the programmes of the government.
All the registered patients also went home each with a mattress,bedcover and mosquito nets each.
Governor Hope Uzodimma who was represented at the occasion by the State Commissioner for Health,Batholomew Okorochukwu while thanking the lawmaker for her kind gestures vowed that the State ministry of health will partner her for better success .
