The first female governorship aspirant in Imo, Dr. Chidi Omeogu-Ogbuta, under the African Action Congress (AAC) has urged Imo people to shun men aspiring to seize power as governor for their self-interest and vote a woman for a better state.

Ogbute, who made her remarks in an online interview, kept referring the political class as the cabal in politics.

“I’m not a traditional politician, but a medical doctor, who is concerned about the terrible state of affairs of our country, Nigeria in general and Imo State in particular.

“I’ve no experience when it comes to looting of resources and denying citizens their basic rights. I only came from the humanitarian perspective and it is on bridging the gap of inequities mission in the state.

“The basic difference between me and the cabals who want to be governor is that the cabals want to grab power to fulfil their desires, to hold and wield the power for personal purposes, ego and self interest.

“They want power as an end in itself. On the contrary, I find my goal in making power available for the masses. With that, we can take back power from the cabals to attack the problems confronting Imolites,” she said.
