Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday announced the suspension of Sir George Eguha, former state secretary and Kelvin Ugwu, the legal adviser for alleged misconduct and gross  anti-party activities.

The suspension of the duo who are members of the Sheriff faction of the party, was contained in a statement  by the Publicity Secretary,  Damian Oparah in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Oparah said the party took the action against the chieftains following alleged anti-party activities levelled against them. They  were alleged to have authored falsehood in a newspaper publication which was intended to mislead and misguide the majority of genuine Imo PDP members and leaders in the  state.

Oparah disclosed that Chief Eguh had written letters to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), regarding the just concluded ward and local government congresses, wherein he introduced different people as PDP council chairmen in the state.

According to him, the state executive committee, after a thorough review of the findings, approved the suspension order. He said pending their appearance before the party’s state Disciplinary Committee, the duo remain suspended from participating in PDP activities at all levels.
