The operatives of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad of the Imo state command have apprehended armed robbers suspects who killed and buried a serving police officer in a shallow grave in the state.
The suspects are Chinedu ‘M’ 23, Chinnor Amadi ‘M’ 27, Eze Odu ‘M’ aka Ezebu N’afor 25,and Amadi Francis ‘M’ 20, all from Ihie Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.
The state commissioner of police,Mr Isaac Akinmoyede, who paraded the suspects among other suspects at the command’s headquarters in Owerri, the state capital said that the arrest of the suspects was a huge breakthrough for the command.
He also  commended the SARS  Commander CSP Victor Godfrey and operatives for their diligent operation.
According to the Imo Police Boss ,  “on July 31, at approximately 11:45hrs, SARS operatives on a tip -off intelligence, in continuation and consolidation of investigation arrested four suspects.
The suspects are Chinedu ‘M’ 23, Chinnor Amadi ‘M’ 27, Eze Odu ‘M’ aka Ezebu N’afor 25,and Amadi Francis ‘M’ 20, all from Ihie Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.
“The prime suspect Chinedu male, was brought in with multiple injuries on his body. The suspects who are strong members of the notorious outlawed Late Chijioke Onyeze aka Bracket gang  have confessed how they murdered a serving policeman and buried him in a shallow grave.
“Three suspects were earlier arrested by SARS  operatives who are currently undergoing investigation. It is important to note that on July 6, the group killed Obioma Iheka, muredered Maduakolam Nwoguzo on May14, Alozie Amadi on July 4,  among others.
Akinmoyede disclosed that the suspects would be prosecuted as soon as investigation is completed.
