Business mogul, Chief John Ikechukwu, on Tuesday, disclosed his intention to employ over 500 persons especially the youths in Anambra State as part of his contribution to reduce unemployment in the state.

He said he reached the decision to embark on the mass employment to assist the efforts of the Willie Obiano-led administration to reduce unemployment and youth restiveness in the state.

Chief Ndu, who made this pledge when he formally joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Awkuzu, Oyi council area, disclosed that he has finalised plans to walk his talk. He pointed out that the move would help to sware more support for the re-election bid of the governor.

Speaking later after being conferred with an award of excellence by the Anambra State Councilors’ Forum (ASCOF), a body of immediate past councilors in Anambra State, Chief Ndu said Governor Obiano’s provision of security had attracted investors like himself to the state to contribute their own quota to the state’s development.

To this end, Ndu said he would soon employ over 500 youths to work in his various establishments, even as he disclosed that he was into livestock, cash crops, hotel and housing businesses, among others, which would take the 500 people.
