Barely 10 days after the northern governors met at an extra-ordinary meeting in Kaduna over insecurity, they are meeting again today being Monday in expanded mode.

This time around, they invited Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, the Chief of Staff (COS) Professor Ibrahim Gambari, some members of the Senate, led by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, some northern traditional rulers led by the Sultan of Sokoto and chairman, Northern traditional rulers council, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, amongst others.

Though, the main agenda of the meeting was yet to be disclosed at the time of filing this report, feelers at Kaduna government house, venue of the meeting indicated that issue of insecurity in the region may top the agenda.

Our Correspondent who was at the venue of the meeting reported that Journalists were only allowed to take photographs of dignitaries without the usual participation in the opening ceremony.

However, as at the time of this report Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong who is the Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum was being expected at the meeting.

The actual number of governors and deputy governors in attendance will be known at the end of the meeting.

The meeting which was scheduled for 11.AM began at about 12 noon.
