A group under the aegis of Builders of New Nigeria (BNN) has lamented the continued massacre of Nigerians especially in the northern part of the country, just as it calls on the Federal Government to do everything in its power to stop the killings.

Addressing a press conference at the NUJ House in Makurdi on Wednesday, the group posited that the genocide which has continued to go on unabated is already threatening the survival of the country.

Convener and National Chairman of BNN, Yinka Quadri, said Nigerians can no longer sit and watch helplessly while fellow Nigerians are being butchered and massacred on their own land.

“To witness the continuing carnage where our people are being butchered and massacred right on their own land with insane impunity anywhere in this country under any pretext is completely unacceptable and this will stop without further delay.

“It is very pathetic and unthinkable that as we sit here now, sharing perspectives on how to stop the genocide that is threatening the very survival of the country, the killings are still going on around us both in Benue State and in other places across the middle belt region.”

Quadri said it was for this reason that the BNN is embarking on a fact finding solution tour tagged Kill the Killings Project to the Middle Belt region with the objective of meeting with all relevant stakeholders and interest groups so that they can all join hands to put a stop to the killings.

The group also recommended Governor Samuel Ortom as a national leader of no mean stature for courageously enacting the Benue Anti Open Grazing Law and for his open commitment to the security of his people despite the feelings of the cynics when he recently moved from the APC to the PDP.
