Although, she is not an A-list actress, Mirabel Etuk is making her mark in the motion picture industry with her acting prowess.

Currently working on a project after a fascinating role interpretation of ‘Ghetto Pikin’, which would soon hit the shelves, the fair-complexioned thespian is indeed here to stay.

Inside Nollywood had a brief encounter with the budding star recently and she had this to say about her love life: “In my case, lines will fall in pleasant places for my sake. That’s all I can say concerning when the wedding bells would ring. As for me marrying an actor, I must confess that this question has just thrown me off-balance. I’m so clueless with the answer right now. Maybe some other time, I might have the answer.”

On her impression about Nollywood, Etuk said: “Nollywood has grown and we’re growing.  It’s just a matter of time, we will get there. So far, so good, there has been so much progress to look back at. We Nigerians should learn to appreciate our own because we put in a lot into what we do. The truth is that, it is not easy to make somebody laugh, smile and happy, and we do this with our movies. Seriously, it takes a lot to do this and we deserve the best trophy.”

Mercy Aigbe intensifies  battle with hubby, Lanre Gentry

The divorce saga of Edo State-born actress, Mercy Aigbe and her 52-year-old husband, Lanre Gentry, is getting messier, as she has intensified efforts to fight back.

Only few days ago, Aigbe dropped her estranged husband’s last name from her social media accounts. The actress edited her name on Instagram platform from @mercyaigbegentry to @realmercyaigbe and  wrote an open letter to Gentry seeking to know the reason he wanted her dead.

Part of the piece she wrote reads: “Why would a man who claims to love you, beat you to the extent of breaking your skull? What was my crime? Asiwaju Gentry, you have to tell the world what my crime was.

“People keep saying I shouldn’t talk and that I should think of our child but you keep threatening to kill me, why, I don’t know! Now that you are conniving with the police, I don’t feel safe and I have to cry out.”

Aigbe added that they were both meant to appear in court together last Monday, but he was nowhere to be found, leading to the adjournment of the case.

However, Inside Nollywood learnt that Gentry was later arraigned at Magistrate Court 1, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos on a three-count charge under the state criminal law 2011. His appearance before the court came days after another magistrate court barred him from coming close to the actress and her two children.

Gentry, who was alleged to have physically assaulted Aigbe appeared before the court, but pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him by the Lagos State Government. Aigbe claimed that she has been suffering from battering in the hands of her husband for some time and things got to its limit after the recent “big fight”.
