In a bid to end the insecurity currently ravaging the South East, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has call for a fresh dialogue between the Federal Government and Ndigbo on issues on Biafra agitation and the rationales behind the ideologies of the secessionist movements in Nigeria”

In a statement signed by  Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Secretary General  of the apex Igbo socio cultural group, it says Federal Government is shying away from dialogue and playing the ostrich.

“We are calling on the international community to pressurise President Muhammadu Buhari to see genuine reasons for a dialogue with Igbo, for peaceful coexistence, and resolving the issues that will restore confidence and guarantee security in the Southeast.

“This is trying times for southeastern Nigeria. The International community should step- in to ensure that there is dialogue between Buhari and Ndigbo, without interference of southeast politicians, but  incorruptible Igbo leaders to lead the discussion. It’s time for UK, USA, China, and others to wade into the crisis in southeastern Nigeria”, the statement said.

While calling on International Community to intervene immediately without any further delay,  the statement said Ndigbo are ready for actions that will end the insecurity challenges in the region. “Unknowingly to Presidency,   the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu had bequeathed him as the new leader of the new generation of Igbo. The continuous observation of sit-at- home in his honor is an authorization that Nnamdi Kanu is the new leader, even though there are economic losses associated with the sit at home exercise.

“UK, USA, and China should pay attention to the causes of insecurity and violence in the southeast and compel President Buhari to sit down with Igbo for consideration of peace, except if there are unseen hands fuelling  the recent crisis and happy to see it destroy southeast for the second time after 1970. it’s time for Buhari to dialogue with Ndigbo on Nnamdi Kanu,” it says.
