Rage Media CEO and international Speaker, George Omoraro, has advised Nigerian youths to lay legitimacy to wealth than engage in internet fraud.

Omoraro, reacting to the rate at which Nigerians, especially outside the country are being arrested and prosecuted, thereby creating a bad name for the country and its nationals abroad, he charged that such attitude should be discouraged among youths.

The ace digital marketer, said, he founded his company, Rage Media, when he had nothing, but only hope. “Today, I have hundreds of staff in my employ directly and indirectly.
Any opportunity I have to speak to the youths, I often advise them to stay off internet fraud. You can make a temporal cash, but you are reaping off another person’s sweat. The youths should be encouraged to acquire skills. And engage in legitimate business practise

“Today, we see some young graduates who are into fashion, baking, catering services, and so on, all to make legitimate ends meet, while some are still into the popular yahoo yahoo (fraud).

“No matter how much an internet fraudster makes, someday, the long arm of the law will catch up with him. Yahoo yahoo (fraud) is like a spirit. You must be determined to let it go. I believe that the lack of something concrete to fall back on, is another challenge that hinders those who are genuinely interested in quitting it,” Omoraro said.

According to him, “The government cannot provide everything for us. As a people, we must take personal responsibility to our deeds and misdeeds. The more internet fraud is committed anywhere in the world, in impinges on the image of the country where such individual originates.

“Nigeria is today rated as one of the world’s top ranking countries where internet fraud is committed. Ours is to continue our advocacy for a paradigm shift from what we are known for in the comity of states as a high risk nation, so that, if we succeed in having a reorientation, we can as well go low in ranking, through making our youths be meaningfully engaged in skills.”

He said the government has a role to play too, through wealth creation, boosting of small and medium enterprises, and opening up employment opportunities in different ministries and parastatals for a favourable competition among the youths, to get the best.
