“All over my body was full of serious attack of the forces of darkness. I suffered from insomnia for many years and spent my money on drugs. My wife, doctors and friends at a point lost hope of my being alive; every mid night from 1 to 3am, a particular evil spirit usually make loud noise and after that my health condition would become worse. All these happened to me until I came in contact with your column. When you finally introduced me to your anointing oil and I used it, today I am healed and those evil attacks stopped…” Mr. Anoji Christian. Email- [email protected]

“Dear Prof. thanks a million times for the oil I received from you. The good Lord has answered my prayers. I anointed my house as you instructed me, the following day we saw four dead black cats in my sitting room, the same day,  my wife was healed of the sickness that defiled every medication. Thanks a lot my prof. may God be praised. Mr. Ade W. Email [email protected]

The mind of God is fully presented in the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible. This simply shows that God is not willing to leave humanity without a proper guide. Again he still inspires people to add to his divine WILL. Do not think that I am an unbeliever by the things I am saying here. I am a seed of God and not that of the serpent; I am of the view that the sons of God in this era will get emancipated from the traditions of men and misinterpretations of the Bible.

I am aware that he that made them from the beginning made them male and female. Yet many prophets of the Old Testament knew this; but they were allowed and permitted by God to marry more than one wife. Abraham, Moses, Isaac, David, Solomon, to mention only a few understood all these yet God made them what they were. Is God truly against monogamy?

There is no place in the Bible particularly in the exodus that God gave law that a man must marry one wife. In fact from Genesis to Revelation, there is no portion in the Bible that says, “Thou must marry only one wife if not so you are condemned.” Yes, he that made them from the beginning made them male and female. Abraham knew this but what happened? David, Moses and all those who had good records in God’s book of remembrance knew this, yet they were allowed to do their will and marry their choice in accordance with the will of life. Something must happen for something to happen! Let us examine a Bible portion briefly. I am writing this to generate controversy and to educate my reader too.

The Bible says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. Gen.2:24. From God’s perspective, marriage is instituted when a person leaves his parents with intent of cleaving to his spouse. Such union if it comes by destiny becomes the will of God and in such a case the man and the woman involved become one flesh. In the leaving and cleaving process, a person replaces one human relationship {Child parent} by another (husband wife).

A man of a different parent, culture, social background now becoming one flesh with another woman with entirely different background, in this union lies unity, love, care, harmony etc as ordained by God. The man and wife will learn how to manage their different background to suit their inner collective ideology; this will produce happiness and harmony in the family. But if they contracted their marriage out of ‘do or die’ and if they are not cosmically ordained to be lovers (husband and wife) their different background will consequently sow the seed of Cain. This is the seed of divorce because they are not one flesh.

The term “one flesh” is translated from the Hebrew { echad basar} and comes from a primary root word which carries the connotation to be flesh, i.e full { rosy, fig, cheerful}. Probably no meaning can be derived from the words “full, rosy, or cheerful” that would indicate that these descriptions have special significance for this particular relationship. A man who marries his destined wife will be destroyed if he goes out searching for another un-destined partner, while a man who marries un-destined woman {and the church calls them one flesh} even when the marriage has produced children, if the man goes out in search of his one flesh is not bound by any law. If eventually he succeeds in finding real love from his destined partner he becomes like a tree that is planted by the river side that brings forth its fruits in due seasons.

Marriage was also set forth as being an intimate relationship in which the human being finds its satisfaction and fulfillment. Along with these we see a mutuality in marriage as you can bear witness to the fact that marriage is for mutual supplementation and complementation as expressed in the words “help meet” Gen. 2:18.. Let us for a moment compare marriage to a chair and each of its characteristics to a leg which keeps the chair from falling over. We see that each must play its part in maintaining the relationship. When anyone of the legs is pulled out, the chair is immediately thrown off balance. Conceivably, three legs can hold up a four legged chair but there is much more chance of it toppling over with one leg missing. The moment two legs go off, the chair looses full balance, the church will still be managing it even when no person sits on it, and this is double error.

God is God of wisdom! He did not command thus, “Therefore I command that a man must leave his father and mother…” but instead he said, “Therefore a man leaves his father and mother…” This simply means that the Biblical narrative does not set forth a marriage law. The account reflects the natural union of man and woman for their mutual enjoyment.

The concept of one flesh brought into focus a complementary relationship. Life became an integrative whole. The one flesh idea is taken many times to refer most specifically to the physical expression of sex. However, one flesh brings together all the personal components of life. It “may” also refer to two or three women living together in mutual respect, love, growth and helpfulness. Yes! The church of Christ is made up of millions of people on earth, yet it is called “one body of Christ” meaning one flesh with Christ. Again man is made up of Body, Soul and Spirit, all in one body.

We speak against polygamy not that it is profoundly or doctrinally contradict the will and the purpose of God in creation, no, it does not; we speak against it because of some emotional and other related social cum spiritual implications or problems. It is not easy to manage one wife talk more of two. Well, it all depends on the grace that accompanies an individual. Not everybody can practice polygamy. All depends on individual grace.

Therefore saying that monogamy is the only acceptable will of God is not correct for necessity they say, is the mother of invention. This is my humble spiritual opinion.
