The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University received a delegation of Isu Media Limited in Lapai.

The meeting which was at the instance of the University’s Centre for Arts and Indigenous Studies, was in furtherance of the collaborative talks between the Centre and Isu Media Limited.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Isu Media, Odoh Okenyodo stated that the purpose of the visit was to discuss and harness possible areas of communication with the Centre which would in turn lead to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two organisations.

“Isu Media is a development communications firm that supports NGOs in their communications with their audiences. One of the reasons for our visit is to ensure a mutually benefiting partnership with the University and the Centre”, he said.

In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Adamu appreciated the team for visiting the University with such a noble intention of partnership.

He commended the Director of the Centre for Arts and Indigenous Studies, Professor Emmanuel Egya for his vibrancy and for initiating the partnership which he said would be a prosperous one.

“We are sincerely happy to see you in our midst and we thank you for expressing interest to partner and collaborate with the University and the Centre.

“We are happy because this is the beginning of the good things to come between the university and Isu Media”, he stated.

The meeting ended with the presentation of souvenir to the visitors, after which the team proceeded to the Board Room Faculty of Management and Social Sciences where Isu Media made a detailed presentation of its proposition for partnership with the centre.

In his presentation entitled, “Documentation of Niger State Cultural Heritage”,
Okenyodo submitted that Isu Media is interested in providing support to the centre for digital documentation of cultural heritage in the state and to create opportunities that would foster the growth of the centre and the University in general.

The primary areas of support to be offered by Isu Media are Technical, Marketing and Liaison supports respectively.

The presentation session was moderated by the Centre’s Director, Professor Sule who appreciated the Isu Media team for its willingness to partner with the Centre and University.

He also thanked the University Management for its support and presence at the presentation.
All others who spoke at the occasion expressed their excitement with the partnership and stressed the need to document and revive the cultural heritage in the state.

Meanwhile, the memorandum of understanding is set to be signed after due review of the intricacies of the proposal by both organisations in the coming weeks.
