The Lagos State government has constituted a 5-man panel to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the building that collapsed at Ita Faji on Lagos Island and provide remedies to avoid a future reoccurrence.

The 3-storey building collapsed on Massey Street, Ita Faji, Lagos, on Wednesday, last week.

No fewer than 20 persons, including school children, died in the incident with several others rescued from the rubble

The Lagos State Commissioner for Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye,  inaugurated the panel, which is headed by Mr. Olatunde Wasiu Olokunola, an engineer and builder.

The panel has two weeks to submit its report.
