Jaguar Land Rover Experience in Johannesburg has added convenient Taster Drives to its lineup of driving courses, giving customers more in-depth test drives of new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles than are possible in dealership environments.

Taster Drives serve as ideal introductions for customers new to the Jaguar or Land Rover brands, or as gifts for fans who love them. Each Taster Drive includes an introduction to the world-class Jaguar Land Rover Experience facility, a short vehicle safety briefing and the drive experience itself – all totaling around 90 minutes.

The new Taster Drives are offered alongside the Experience centre’s comprehensive selection of half-day, full-day or bespoke luxury travel driving experiences which are available in a wide range of current Jaguars and Land Rovers, including the supercharged F-PACE SVR, all-electric I-PACE, New Defender and New Range Rover among others.

Taster Drives start at R1,520 including VAT per person, or R2,200 for V8 models and the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE. Driving guests are required to present valid South African driving license cards, and must be at least 23 years of age to drive V8 or electric models.

All driving courses are hosted by Jaguar Land Rover’s globally-accredited instructors.

Situated among 14 hectares of forest shrubland in the heart of Johannesburg’s northern suburbs, Jaguar Land Rover Experience is the first Experience centre in the Southern Hemisphere and the largest in the world. The centre offers visitors the unique opportunity to get behind the wheel of current Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles on a variety of test tracks, all under the expert guidance of world-class instructors.

The property is home to the Kingsley Holgate Expedition Trail – 3km of off-road tracks named as an homage to the long-time friend and global ambassador of the Land Rover brand. There’s also a Land Rover Adventure Park adjacent to the main building where a series of tailor-made obstacles are designed to put the world’s most capable off-road vehicles to the test in plain view of visitors.

A 70-metre diameter skidpan with central irrigation is on site for low-traction handling exercises, while a 185-metre long and 30-metre wide Dynamic Handling Platform will allow drivers to stretch the legs of various vehicles at higher speeds.

The facility is also home to the TLC on the Track restaurant, placed on the main building’s upper level. The restaurant is open to the public for walk-ins from 8am to 5pm, Tuesdays to Sundays. TLC specialises in South African-inspired dishes for breakfast and lunch with a vast menu catering for all tastes.

Jaguar Land Rover Experience also features a range of facilities ideal for use by special arrangement by businesses for product launches, events, conferences, casual meetings or team-building days. A 52-seat cinema room can be used along with a selection of various conference and private board rooms with seating for between eight and 50 guests.

Jaguar Land Rover brands are represented in Nigeria by Coscharis Motors Plc.
