As part of events to mark his 40th birthday, AbdulRasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz, and his wife, Funke Akindele-Bello aka Jenifa, have launched a record label, SOP Records.
Already, SOP Records has signed on some artistes including Mo Eazy, Gemstones, Sonorous and Martinfeelz, who have performed the soundtrack of a new TV series, Industreet, produced by Funke Akindele-Bello.
Gemstones consists of female twins, Awa – Agwu Uzoma Ruby and Awa – Agwu Olanma Pearl, who sing Afro R&B. After graduating in 2015, they auditioned for the MTN Project Fame competition, season 8 and were both selected to be in the reality show, with Pearl emerging as the first runner-up and working with Yemi Alade and Chidinma to release songs such as ‘Whatever You Do’ and  ‘Kedike’ remix, respectively. Pearl went on to release her own single, ‘Kuro’ in 2016.
Mo Eazy whose real name is Moses Agboola was born in Kano but moved to the UK where he honed his music skills in the church. He has a hit single, ‘Red Carpet’ and has performed with industry heavyweights in the UK and Nigeria and has also received several awards.
Martinsfeelz (Olawale Ayoeji Martins) and Sonorous (Omokanye Olasunkanmi Muhammed) both hail from Ilorin, Kwara State. And while Martinsfeelz, a Microbiology student at University of Ilorin raps, Sonorous got his major after recording his first single, ‘Iyamileko’, in 2013, which is a fusion of Afropop and fuji.
