An early morning inferno has razed down over 50 houses and destroyed grain silos and several livestock  in Barebari village in Ringim local government area of Jigawa state.

The inferno, which started around 11:00a.m, on Tuesday, was put under control six hours later, after it destroyed everything it came into contact with by the operatives of fire service and good Samaritans.

The fire, which cause was not immediately known, was said to have started at a house made of thatch, while it brew with the hot breeze to later consume the entire community. Although no live was lost, domestic animals, including sheep, goats and chickens, were killed in the fire. The Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Sani Yusuf Babura, who confirmed the incident said the agency is working hard on the ways to assist the victims of the inferno.

The cause of the fire is not known at the time of filling this report and no report of life lost.
