People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State,  has  accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of enticing eligible voters with money during the last Presidential and Nastional Assembly elections in the state.

The party’s  governorship candidate, Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim,  who raised the alarm alleged that members of the APC were seen canvassing votes for cash.

Ringim, during an interview with Daily Sun,  said:  “An APC stalwart cum business mogul was seen roaming the state, with full police protection, canvassing for votes and harassing PDP agents who rejected his offer.

‘’My personal security details were withdrawn without any explanation; but, the same police security escorts to the businessman in question was allowed to use policemen to coerce voters into selling their votes in the presidential and national assembly elections. I’m highly disappointed that after I had spoken to the commissioner of police about the matter, nothing was done to stop the man from buying votes from our voters.’’

When contacted the Police Commissioner in the state,  Bala Zama Senchi, denied abetting any political party during the  last elections.

Also, the APC in Plateau State has described as distasteful, the allegation by  the PDP that both senatorial and House of Representatives elections in the Central Senatorial district of the state  were padded to give the party an advantage.

Deputy Director, Media, Publicity and Protocol Committee, of the party’s campaign council, Festus Fuanter, said from all indications the presidential and National Assembly elections were adjudged to be peaceful with little hitches in some parts of the state.
