Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Jigawa State,  Mustapha Sule Lamido, has promised to declare a state of emergency in unemployment so that the teeming youths in the state can be gainfully employed.                                    

He made the pledge at the party’s official campaign flag off in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

Speaking at the presentation of flags to party candidates for the 2023 election,, Lamido expressed displeasure at the number of unemployed youths idling away in the state. He said he would address the issue of unemployment through wealth creation and employment generation if elected governor next year.           He also promised to work for the unity of the state,tackle the annual flooding crisis and fix the challenges in the health and education sectors.

PDP North West vice Chairman, Senator Bello Gwarzo presented party flags to 11 House of Representatives candidates and the three senatorial candidates,  among them, former Governor Saminu Ibrahim Turaki. Party flags were also presented to the 30 House of Assembly candidates by National PDP youth leader, Muhammad Kadade.

The campaign flag off attracted massive crowd of party supporters, well-wishers and admirers drawn from across the 27 local government areas of the state.
