Rose Ejembi, Makurdi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Benue State, Emmanuel Jime has expressed the optimism that he would be victorious in yesterday’s election.

Jime spoke with newsmen at his North Bank, Makurdi residence shortly after he returned from casting his vote at his Ndabagi Polling Unit 011, North Bank.

“The result will be announced and I will be favoured. No one goes into an election thinking he is going to lose. My confidence arises from the fact that I have been very positive in my message and I get feedbacks that the message is resonating well.”

The APC governorship hopeful hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as the smooth conduct of the governorship and the state House of Assembly polls in the state.

He noted that there was marked improvement as regards the preparedness of INEC for the polls compared to what happened during the presidential polls.

“The polling unit where I voted, the process went on smoothly. The electoral officers and electoral materials arrived in time. The card readers did not fail.

“In general, I would say that there is a massive improvement about INEC’s conduct of this election,” Jime stated.
