The Army Headquarters Garrison (AHQ), has commenced the 2019 annual range classification exercise to test troops’ efficiency on weapon handing and marksmanship.

The exercise which started on Monday, is taking place at the Guards Brigade  Shooting Range, Keffi in Nassarawa State.

Assistant Director in charge of Public Relations at the AHQG, Colonel Abraham Ochagwuba, who made this known in a statement, said there would be heavy movement of troops and military hardware throughout the duration of the exercise and advised the public not to panic but go about their lawful business.

Ochagwuba in the statement said: “This is to inform the public that the Army Headquarters Garrison Annual Range Classification 2019 will come up from Monday March 18, to Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Guards Brigade Shooting Range, Keffi, Nassarawa State.

“The aim of the exercise is to test troops’ proficiency on weapon handling and marksmanship principles in order to enhance their prospects of being professionally responsive in the discharge of their responsibility in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff.

“Consequently, there will be mass movement of troops between Abuja and Keffi road within the stipulated days.

“The public is hereby advised not to panic and communities living around the range area in Keffi, are advised to go about their lawful businesses and also to keep off from the range area during the exercise.”
