The statement reminded that Ramalan Yero was sworn in as governor in December 2012, after the demise of his principal, late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, who died in a plane crash in Bayelsa State.

Before then, Ramalan Yero was appointed Commissioner, Ministry of Finance by the then State Governor, Namadi Sambo who served between 2007 and 2010 before he went to serve as a vice to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.

From Commissioner, Yero was later appointed and sworn in as deputy governor of the State, after Namadi Sambo’s elevation to the position of vice president of Nigeria due to the sudden death of President Umaru Musa ‘Yar’adua in 2010, and Yakowa, who was Namadi’s deputy, became the Governor in Kaduna State.

Due to the political changes at the national level, Ramalan Yero later became the Governor of Kaduna State after the demise of Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa in 2012.
