The key contenders for Kaduna governorship race under the umbrella of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which include former governor of the state, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, and a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Isah Ashiru Kudan, were optimistic that the primaries would produce acceptable candidate.
Also, Sani Bello, who was said to have stepped down for Isa Ashiru was spotted looking confident as voting began after serious accreditation of about 2,654 delegates expected to cast their vote before the main challenge to Sir Ibrahim Kashim house come February 2019 if nothing changes according to INEC’s readiness.
The atmosphere has so far been calm and under control amidst tight security provided by the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Kaduna State Vigilante Services (KADVIS).
As it is, 10 candidates are represented by agents on the podium, one was said to have stepped down, while another one had earlier withdrew from the race after showing intention to run.
