Kano Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is set to commence investigation into activities of former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso during his recent visit to the state.

At a press conference in Kano yesterday, the party accused the  former governor of gross misconduct and indiscipline during his visit and swore to invoke a provision of the party in addressing the matter.

The press conference was conducted jointly by the state chairman of the party, acting chairman of the Elders Committee of the party, Alhaji Haruna Doguwa and Alhaji Audu Kirare respectively. The party disclosed that it has since forwarded a letter of complaint to the Department of State Services (DSS) and to the state’s Commissioner of Police over the ugly incidents which played out during his visit to the state.

Specifically, the party alleged the former governor hired thugs and  converted a condolence visit to a launch pad for his 2019 presidential campaign. They w dissociated Kano chapter of the APC from his presidential ambition.

The party also accused  Kwankwaso of spearheading chants of vulgar and hate songs against the bereaved governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje during the visit, adding that, “the act of thuggery and brazen display of daggers , swords and other forms of weapons by his sponsored and hired thugs was totally unwholesome and condemnable”

The party also recalled that, “when his hired crowd was denied access to the airport premises, they climbed over the fence, breaking iron bars and destroying the securing scanners. The leader of the party in the state is the governor, Dr  Ganduje whose leadership of the party in the state must be jealously guarded by all well-meaning members of the party.”

The party said it would leave no stone unturned in instilling discipline, orderliness and loyalty in the party, urging its teeming members to remain calm and resolute in their unity.

Earlier in the week, Kwankwaso visited Ganduje on the death of his mother but the visit was embellished with elements of politics.
