The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has applauded the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to extend by 10 days the deadline for the swap of the currency notes.

The Emir expressed his feelings of gratitude when he hosted the President and his entourage in his palace on Monday.

He also thanked President Buhari for maintaining cordial relations with his late father, Late Ado Abdullahi Bayero during his reign on the throne.

President Buhari was in Kano on a one-day visit to officially commission projects executed by the Federal and state government.

The monarch further appreciated the President for finding it necessary to visit the palace whenever he is in the state, recalling that for the three years, he has been on the throne, the President has visited his palace three times.

He expressed gratitude to the administration for the attention it has extended to Kano with regard to the government’s projects and appointments

He prayed for a peaceful election and urged the members of the political class to eschew violence and hate speech as they carry on with their electioneering campaigns ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

In his remarks, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje enumerated the projects slated for commissioning by President Muhammadu Buhari.
