Kano State Police Command at weekend announced the arrest of a total of 156 persons suspected of committing various crimes in the state in the past 30 days.

The State Police Commissioner, Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the Bompai Police headquarters of the Command in the state.

He explained that the range of crimes for which they were picked included robbery, kidnapping, vehicle theft, thuggery and fraud, among others.

’18 suspects were arrested for armed robbery, 8 for kidnapping, 10 were arrested for cattle rustling ,7 suspected drug dealers ,13 suspected motor vehicle thieves, 5 suspected fraudstars,and 95 suspected thugs (‘yan Dana),’ he stated.

He noted that 10 rifles, 16 motor vehicles, 16 tricyles, three motorcycles, five cows, 76 knives, 34 mobile handsets and five air conditioners, were among exhibits recovered from the suspects.

He further explained that three bags, made up of 26 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp were equally arrested from suspects just he valued the impounded leaves at the sum of N2.1 million

He appreciated the support of people and Government of Kano State while urging the general public to support the police in its fight against crime.
