The collation of results for Saturday’s supplementary governorship election in Kano State resumed this morning at 8am.
The decision to adjourn the exercise was reached in the early hours of Sunday, following the non-arrival of the results of Nassarawa local government area, one of the 28 local government areas in which the election held.
Our correspondent recalls that as at the time of adjourning the collation exercise, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was ahead of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP has since called for the cancellation of the supplementary election following the alleged violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act.
