The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has never challenged the authority of God Almighty or claimed to be Jesus as alleged in some quarters in social media platforms.

The group condemned the use of Kanu’s name on Facebook and other social media platforms as Jesus, Saviour by those wanting to drag his name to the mud as well as to cause disunity among the people of God and Christians.

A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr. Emma Powerful said Kanu had never challenged God.

“Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, in his life, never challenged the authority of God Almighty who created heaven and earth or Jesus Christ,  the son of God even the spirit.  It is very pathetic that the enemies of Biafra, IPOB and Kanu will use his name on Facebook and other social media platforms to cause disunity among the people of God and Christians.

“Kanu is a Christian and cannot blaspheme God Almighty and his son, Jesus Christ. Those using his name as saviour, messiah and Jesus are misinformed and uneducated because he never asked them to do so.

“Kanu has warned everybody to stop using his name or comparing him with God Almighty and nobody can prove that he wants people to compare him with Christ, either through the video or voice call. It is dangerous. It is the work of enemies,” Powerful  said.
