A group of corps members classified as NYSC Editorial board comprising batches ‘A’ and ‘B’, in Kebbi State, have presented school writing materials, food items to motherless babies at the state-owned orphanage home.
While Speaking with Daily Sun during the presentation of the materials, on Monday, CD leader, Miss Vincent Queen Ebubechi, said they were in the orphanage home to give back to the society in line with the vision of NYSC.
“We are doing this today because we recognised that the best things we can do for these children is to help them in the area of education.
“There is this joy that do come from whoever is giving out to someone. We too are products of favour even though we have parents. So, it is a pride to come here today as Corps members to give back to the society.”
Deputy Director Child Development in the Home, Alhaji Halilu Abubakar, urged Nigerians and other organisations ro emulate the gestures of the corps members.

He said well-meaning Nigerians should remember motherless babies and always assist them to become important personalities in the society.
Abubakar disclosed that there were about 65 such babies in the home while about 15 of them were in various secondary schools in the state.
He added that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu usually visited them every Saturday to ascertain their welfare, while stressing that he had sent five sets of Computers and tailoring machines  to them to enable them acquired vocational skills.

The Director who commended different organisations including Labana Rice Mills, Private schools and market unions among others for always donating to the children said other Nigerians should joined the humanitarian services and received God’s reward.
