Kebbi Government has sent 28 students to Egypt universities to studies courses in medicine for six years.

The 28 students, who were selected across local government areas departed Abuja en-route Egypt, yesterday.

While briefing newsmen ahead of their departure in Birnin Kebbi, Executive Secretary of the state Scholarships Board, Sanusi Garba, said they were carefully selected last year.

“The students were carefully selected by the committee set up last year and all of them are around today. The total number of the students for MBBS studies are 57. We are carrying the 28 now and waiting for the approval of the remaining 29 students that will be going to Russia.”

He said the number was in addition to the 118 in Indian,, whose studies have entered two years under the sponsorship of the Kebbi State government.

He advised the students to face their study and always remember the sons and daughters of whom they are.

One of the students’ parent, Saadu Hussaini Kangiwa, commended the governor for considering their children worthy of sponsorship.

Speaking on behalf of others, Hadiza Umar Faruq, thanked the governor for approving their sponsorship to Egypt to studying MBBS and said they would not disappoint the state government during their staying in Egypt for their courses.
