England-based Pakistani fighter, Tasif Khan and Ghana’s Gabriel Laryea, are set to out punch each other as the King of the Ring 2 boxing event comes up tonight) at the prestigious Eko Club at Bode Thomas, Surulere.

Powered by Monarch Events and Promotions, Khan and Laryea’s fight will headline the Super Flyweight supremacy for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa title belt.

At the Weigh-in event held at the Presken Hotel at Maryland, Monarch Events and Promotions CEO, Prince Stanley Williams, while admonishing the boxers to be resilient and dedicated to their career in boxing, urged them to make discipline their watch word.   

He promised to sustain the promotions because he sees it as his own contribution towards the development of the sport.

In his speech Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) President, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo said today’s fight is another feather added to the cap of the NBB of C, adding that in the last one year, the body has organised 30 fights for boxers in the country.

According to the organisers, at least 10 bouts are on the undercards for tonight’s bouts with ringside guests including two time Nigerian born British WBO Heavyweight champion, Herbie Hide, and former WBF World Cruiserweight champion, Bash Ali.

There will also be a Female Bantamweight contest between Youth Olympics Silver medalist, Adijat Gbadamosi (6-0-0) vs Taiye Kodjo as well as the ‘grudge fight’ between Agege-based Warriors, Oluwasegun ‘Bouncing’ Mustapha and Hammed ‘Eshe’ Ganiyu.
