– The police team conveying Miss Ese Oruru to the police headquarters in Abuja has arrived

– Ese’s move to the police headquarters is based on the instruction of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase

– Ese was 13-years-old at the time of her alleged kidnap, she turned 14 while in the care of her alleged abductors

Naij.com can authoritatively reveal that the kidnapped Bayelsa teenager, Ese Oruru allegedly forced into marriage, has arrived the headquarters of the Nigerian police in Abuja.

Ese arrived the force headquarters wearing an Ankara material and a white hijab. She came in the company of two women and three men all dressed in hausa attire. Also in the team that arrived the Loius Edet House as the police headquarters is popularly called, is the alleged abductor of Ese, Yinusa, who was handcuffed. Police force public relations officer, Olabisi Kolawole said the handing over of the girl to her parents will happen later.

“The handing over to her parents will happen later in the day, the girl’s parents are not here yet, you know she came from Kano and her mother is coming from Bayelsa, when she gets here we will hand her over to her mother,” Kolawole said. Journalists at the briefing where Ese was presented to the media were barred from taking photos of the teenager.

Ese was abducted in August 2015, and has been away from her parents for over 6 months. She was released today, March 1, to men of the zone 1 police command in Kano before she was taken to Abuja.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Yunusa, the man alleged to have abducted Ese from her Bayelsa home and took her to Kano for underage marriage.
