Members of Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano State have insisted that it would hold the Kano State Police Commissioner responsible in the event that anything untoward happens to their leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso during his planned visit.

Speaking during a press briefing in the state, the Chairman, Planning Committee for the proposed visit, Rabiu Sulieman Bichi said that since the Police in the state are aware of those who are plotting to hijack the visit, they should endeavour to arrest the suspects.

He alleged that the state Commissioner of Special Duties, Abdullahi Abbas, had directed his supporters to stone the former governor during his planned visit to the state.

Bichi, a former secretary to the state government in the administration of Kwankwaso, said the police had been informed of the incitement in a letter dated December 10, 2017, ahead of the impending visit.  He said the group was shocked to receive a letter dated 23rd January, 2019 from the police, advising the former governor to shelve the visit based on security report.

He further explained that the Police Commissioner in the state refused to receive his copy of letter, tasking him as the Chief Security Officer of the state to be alive to his responsibilities.  Bichi urged members of the public to remain peaceful and law abiding before, during and after the visit of the former governor of the state.
