From Desmond Mgboh, Kano

THE Central Working Committee (CWC) of the All Progressive Congress in Kano State, has insisted that the disciplinary procedure initiated against the immediate past governor of the state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will continue.
Secretary to the CWC, Alhaji Abbas Sani Abbas, who disclosed this at a press conference at the weekend, stressed that the committee, set up by the party to investigate the sad incident, will continue with its assignment adding that anybody found guilty, will be dealt with in line with the constitution of the party.
Abbas, on behalf of the CWC, dissociated themselves from the statement of their Chairman, Hon Umar Haruna Doguwa, who repudiated the position of the party.
The party said it was surprised at Doguwa’s statement to the effect that he acted under duress in his statement initiating a disciplinary action against the former governor.
The CWC said in recanting his statement, Doguwa had betrayed the mandate given to him by the Executive Committee of the party.
“We want to state categorically that the chairman made the statement on his own free will” they added that they were standing on their earlier statement as a party condemning the actions of the former governor in recruiting hoodlums and in disrupting the existing peace and harmony in the party.
Doguwa, it would be recalled, had on Saturday, declared that he signed the statement indicting former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso under duress. He also said that he addressed the press conference condemning the former governor under the same condition.
