The Labour Party(LP) has declared it intention to garnered over 50 millions votes across Nigeria in the 2023 general elections for its Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

The party’s Spokesperson of the National Consultative Forum(NCF),Dr. Yunusa Tanko stated this in Birnin Kebbi during the town hall meeting with stakeholders, including Nigeria’s Labour Congress (NLC) leadership.

Tanko noted that in Nigeria, there were 176,846 polling stations ,expected that, if they could have two mobilisers in each polling stations, with 150 voters at each, they could gathered over 26 millions or over 50 millions votes.

According to him, “since we have 176,846 polling stations in Nigeria, we could get over 26 millions votes with 150 voters at each polling stations. In the 2019 general elections, the sitting President got 15 millions votes to win the election and we believed that with the support of our youths, women, we can even gathered 50 millions or more votes”, he said.

Tanko explained that the campaign of Mr. Peter Obi would be focused on issues such as how to solve economic problems, insecurity, stressed that they would distanced themselves from campaign of columnist, backbiting and blackmail.

He urged the people of Kebbi state, youths and women to support LP in other to move the nation forward adding that, their interest would be properly be taken care of.

In his remark, the Kebbi state Chairman of NLC, Comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan urged the electorates in the state to support the party, candidates who have the feeling of people at heart, stressed that, the LP is a political party for all Nigerians.

While addressing the stakeholders, the National Secretary of LP explained that the party is expecting about 90 million votes based on the recent voter’s registration records by INEC ,stressed that, if the party’s presidential candidate becomes President the nation would be more safer with buoyant economy.

The Kebbi state Coordinator of Peter Obi Youths Organization, Barrister Mustapha Suleiman also urged Nigeria youths to support LP and its presidential candidate because of the party programmes for youths, women ,stressed that the party would provide opportunity and justice for all Nigerians.
