Ten royal families from Okokomaiko community in Lagos State  have sued for peace, following tension that recently engulfed the air when a certain individual in the community claimed to be the new Oba.

It was gathered that the youths at the area received the development with rude shock and opposed to whoever was illegitimately laying claim to the stool.

The indigenes at home and abroad, however, applauded the decision of the 10 families to resolve the issue amicably.

A member of the Sule’s family, Aljahi Bolaji Jamiu Bello, expressed concern over the tussle, saying that it was wrong for anyone to be parading himself as the oba of Okokomaiko when the community was made up of ten families that have equal access to the throne.

Bello also called on the Chairman of Lagos State Council of Obas, who is the Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwanu Akiolu to use his good office to ensure that democratic and due process is followed in electing an Oba in Okokomaiko.
