Adams in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Aderemi, expressed concern over the incessant attacks on travellers plying the road. He said it is pertinent to ask the governors to allow the OPC,and Amotekun Corps and other security groups like the hunters, vigilante, COMSAIC, Isokan Oodua under the auspices of  the SSSG to get rid of terrorists from the forests.

“The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is a strategic road in the region. I would not fold my arms to see such facility to be taken over by terrorists that have been attacking travellers.Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is not Kano-Kaduna or Abuja road that have become havens for terrorists. So,the governors should allow us to rid them off this road.”

Adelakun, who is the Presiding Bishop of Victory International Church, Oluyole, Ibadan, and former Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Oyo State urged the Federal Government and security agencies to step up their game and boost security along the corridor for travellers.

“The Federal Government must live up to expectation. The nation is preparing now for election. Can election hold in the midst of insecurity? Absolutely no, so I want to charge those at the helm of affairs to rise up to the occasion, especially the men and officers of the various security outfits. With the cooperation and commitment of the executive at the federal level and the legislature, it is possible.”
