Two people have died with many others injured in a multiple motor accident involving four vehicles at Odo Itlya Alaro, on the bridge linking Maryland and Ojota, Ikorodu Road, Lagos.

The accident occurred at about 2:15 am.

According to a source, a commercial bus coming from Mile 12 after an early morning purchase of wares by six women in the bus.

The source said two of them died instantly; one of the dead had been taken to the morgue by SHEMU, while the second body simply identified as Blessing, have her family members on the ground to take the body away.
A gasoline tanker, a Toyota Camry car whose only occupant escaped unhurt and a tipper/lorry load with sharp sand, hit the Toyota Camry from the rear and the sand spilt on the Camry.

According to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South West Spokesman, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, “the crash details of the vehicles are a tipper without registration number, an empty tanker with registration number FKJ-506XM, an articulated flat bed truck laden with metal coils, a grey coloured Toyota Camry, with registration number ABC 261AJ, a tipper with registration number T-12015 LA, laden with 30 tons of sharp sand and two commercial busses (danfo).

“It was revealed that the tipper truck lost control while on high speed and ran into the vehicles, thereby resulting in multiple accidents. Unfortunately, two Adults (one female and one male) were confirmed dead at the scene. The male adult was handed over to SEHMU at the scene, while the female was taken by her immediate family. Several persons were also injured and taken to nearby hospitals, by FRSC Ambulance, LASAMBUS, LASEMA, NEMA, LASTMA, FRSC, LASAMBUS and Nigeria Police participated in the response.
