For the eighth Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, he is a man who took seriously his assignment as Number 3 citizen of the Centre of Excellence. As much as he shies away from undue publicity or attention, those close to the Agege, Lagos-born top politician hinted that he really loves to have fun in good and quality measures. On Friday 11 November, Obasa glided into the golden age of 50 and quite expectedly, his close family members, friends and associates took turns to felicitate with him in many places.

Sources confirmed that at the moment, invitations were sent out, his friends and associates formed a committee expected to make the occasion a grand one. The programme and plans in the Speaker’s honour exuded gold. That touch of gold indicative of the fact that a golden lawmaker has transformed into an era of gold in his existence. And prior to the D-Day, there has been a series of activities to welcome the ebullient top lawmaker into the golden age, including a special session hosted in his honour by his colleagues at the Lagos Assembly. At 50, Obasa is a man that says it and does it, having survived many wars that would have ordinarily consumed a lily-livered person in politics. For the very gregarious man, he also opened his doors for indigent people in his constituency with sundry gifts and enough to eat and dine by those in attendance. Today, Saturday November 12, an exclusive lavish private soiree will be hosted by his friends and associates to round off the golden celebration.
