The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and his FCT counterpart, Mohammed Musa Bello are expected to host participants at the 4th Stakeholders meeting of the National Gallery of Art to harness potentials in the Visual Arts Sector.
The theme of the stakeholders meeting which is scheduled to hold on October 25, 2022, is “Transforming Nigeria through Contemporary Visual Art: Public and Private Funding and Interventions and Synergies.”
The event, according to a statement by the Director, Planning and Research, Dr. Evelyn Otaigbe, will attract distinguished and renowned artists of Africa descent, art connoisseurs, art enthusiasts, public policy experts and captains of industry.
The Director of the National Gallery of Art, Ibeten Ivara will co-host the event while Senator Rochas Okorocha, (Chairman, Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism), will serve as the Chairman.
Other dignitaries include, Hon. Omorege Ihama (Chairman of the House Committee on Culture), Co-Chair;  and Royal Father of the day is His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Sani Isakoto, the Ohimegye Igu, Koton Karfe & Chairman, Kogi/Lokoja Area Traditional Council, Kogi State.
The Special Guest Speaker is the DG National Museums and Monument, Professor Abba Isa Tijani, while discussants include President of Society of Nigerian Artists President, Mohammed Sulaiman, with Chairman Arbarka Tv/ Radio and former DG, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Dr. Ladan Salihu as Distinguished Panel Anchor while the Chief Distinguished Panelist is ED, Nigerian Film Video Censors Board, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas.
Other panelists include representatives from the academia, diplomats, Private Sector, and more.
Paper Presentation/communique will be issued at the end of the program drawn by Professor Adakole Oklobia, Department of Creative Arts, University of Abuja, Professor Irene Agunloye, Gender Department, University of Jos, Dr. John Oyedemi, Head of Fine and Applied Art, University of Jos, and Dr. Blaise Gbaden, Head,
Department of Fine Arts,
Federal University,  Lafia.
