Former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, a chieftain of the  People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) at Bamaina C polling unit, in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) result showed that the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, polled 259, while President Muhammadu Buhari scored 20 votes.  For the House of Representatives, the result showed that PDP polled 267 votes while APC got only 17 votes.

The senatorial result showed that the son of former governor Mustapha Sule Lamido also floored the serving Senator, Sabo Nakudu, with 287, while APC scored six votes only.

Meanwhile, the INEC has rescheduled elections in four polling units in Gwaram and Fagam polling units. The elections were rescheduled, yesterday, due to complete failure of card readers used at the polling units. Gwaram Local Government Electoral Officer,  Bilal Sabo Danbatta, said the polling units include; Kofar Fada Ahafata 033, Kila ward 003 Galadanchi poling unit, Dubau Primary School 024 and Kofar Kukawa 030 poling unit.
