Minority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Agatu State Constituency, Alhaji Audu Sule, has described the killing of a soldier by some Agatu youths few days ago as a condemnable act and assured that his killers would be fished out.

Daily Sun gathered that the soldier (names withheld), who was among those drafted from the 72 Battalion, in Makurdi, to maintain peace in the area, was killed last Saturday during a scuffle by some youths from Adamoklo village in Agatu Local Government Area of the state, while two other soldiers were also wounded.

Speaking to newsmen, on Tuesday, Hon. Sule expressed worry over the action of the youths, wondering why they would go to the extent of taking laws into their hands and killing a military personnel who had been deployed to keep peace in their area.

While condoling with the Nigerian Army and the family of the deceased soldier over the incidence, Sule warned mischievous youth from his area to desist from causing trouble for innocent villagers who are thankful to the military authority for deploying their men to forestall crisis between farmers and Fulani herders in the area.
